Helping Carson Small Businesses Navigate COVID-19

Carson Small Business Coronavirus Business Assistance Program

The City of Carson, in partnership with the California Community Economic Development Association (CCEDA), has launched the Carson Small Business Coronavirus Business Assistance Program to provide support for small businesses impacted by the Covid-19 virus and associated restrictions.

The program provides technical assistance to businesses seeking Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL), Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funding, other loan programs, as well as general business assistance in managing this crisis. Individual consultants will be assigned to each business seeking assistance.

Businesses may be eligible for emergency loans of up to $30,000 and emergency grants up to $10,000 from the City of Carson.

Is My Business Eligible?

You can apply through the Carson Coronavirus Disaster Small Business Loan Program (CC-DSBLP) if your business has closed and/or suffered sales lost due to the acoronavirus pandemic. Businesses in Carson are eligible for emergency grants of up to $10,000 from the City of Carson.

Microenterprise Assistance

  • Must be Carson resident and business owner with no employees (contractor, gig worker, or entrepreneur)
  • Your business was financially impacted by COVID-19
  • Your business has unpaid, extended, or soon to be due delinquent
    operating expenses, such as rent, utilities, inventory, taxes, etc.

Small Business Assistance

  • Must be a Carson Small Business with at least 2, but fewer than 20, employees
  • Your business had to lay-off, furlough, or reduce work hours/shifts for any of your employees
  • Your business has unpaid, extended, or soon to be delinquent operating expenses, such as rent, utilities, inventory, taxes, etc.
  • Must create or retain 1 full-time equivalent position for a low-income employee
  • All applicable business insurances must be valid and up to date
  • Valid and current federal and state tax ID numbers
